Make sure that the chronically ill of any age not only have affordable access to the health care they need, but also get the respect they deserve as patients from all the medical and hospital people involved in their care.
See beyond one's own needs and desires. Look out towards others to see the work that God has set before us - to contribute to righting the injustice of poverty, deprivation and the suffering it entails. It is by looking and seeing Jesus in this suffering can we be moved beyond ourselves to give, to share and to acknowledge that through these actions we will find God and carry his message.
Where is the peaceable kingdom? We need to stop the violence toward children, women and men, all human rights abuses and the senseless killing that are ever present in our daily news reports. We need to strengthen our gun laws, stop the production of violent video games and educate our children to solve problems peacefully. Is war setting a good example? Working with a peace group is one way to join with others to help make our voices heard.
